QUESTION 3
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
I believe the kind of media institution that would distribute my media product would be British and well established but maybe not exactly world renowned. I believe this would be the case because my media product is likely to relate more to the people of Britain as it is based around a British politician and his day-to-day life until it all takes a turn for the worse and the film may therefore not do so well in other regions because of this. Therefore I believe a distributor like Lionsgate UK could distribute my film in Britain as they also distributed a film similar to mine called 'Brotherhood' in 2016 which they decided not to distribute internationally due to the fact that it would be unlikely to do well in other regions which they discovered after the predecessors of Brotherhood failed to succeed internationally and barely succeeded nationally, with more than half of profits generated in London cinemas. In addition to this, because my film is a Thriller/Action it would be even less likely too do well in other countries like America, for instance who already have such a saturated Thriller/Action that my product, Target, would be unlikely to receive much attention.

QUESTION 4 & 5
Who would be the audience for your media product and how did you attract them?
I believe the audience would be fairly young, starting from 17 to 35 in education or full-time employment (demographic obtained from survey analysis and YouGov) who come from a background which enables them to or earn enough money which enables them to live a comfortable life and can relate to having nice things, For instance, Mr Ramsay can be seen within the film using a luxury Macbook laptop, wearing a bespoke suit and designer glasses which was all carefully thought of when we constructed mise-en-scene. Males are more likely to watch Target as the storyline spans the life of a young, black and fearless MP who experiences his life flipped upside down. Because of this, we opted to use a young, black male (myself) who appeared intelligent while relatable knowing that it would capitalise on a wide demographic and attract them.
While males are more likely to take interest in Target based on data from similar Thriller/Action films, Target can also attract a female audience who will likely watch because of the way in which Jennifer is portrayed to have a somewhat significant influence in the film than the average supporting actress. Although it can be argued that this should not be the case, we also decided to cast an attractive assistant who would attract both male and females due to the male gaze theory (the way in which the visual arts and literature depict the world and women from a masculine point of view, presenting women as objects of male pleasure, though it should be noted that our use of Jennifer was not this extreme) and for the fact that females could aspire to be like her and find her relatable as a young woman who played an influential role in the film. Data also suggests that actresses who are seen in influential positions bring a wider demographic of women to films, for instance The Purge: Election Year in which Elizabeth Mitchell who played Senator Charlie Roan played an influential role which saw many females attracted to watching it, while the main actor was Frank Grillo who played her Sergeant Leo Barnes.
